1. Coating
Handpan is 100% made of metal, so it can easily get rusted in wet and humid environment. Therefore, it will be ideal to apply coating material once a week. We recommend that you use coating materials which are environmentally-friendly and not harmful to human body.
2. Cleaning
You can clean your handpan with medical alcohol which you can purchase easily at any pharmacy or store. Apply some alcohol onto a piece of cotton cloth to wipe upper and lower parts of the handpan.
3. Rust Prevention
SnD uses the best quality metal out of about 200 kinds of alloyed metals. However, when metal meets oxygen it naturally goes through the process of oxidation which changes the color and appearance of the metal. Some Handpan makers apply special paints to prevent the oxidation, but this affects the sound quality and clear resonance of the Handpan.
Also, when the paints get worn out or scratched, those spots easily get rusted.
So we at SnD, instead of using the paints, we have invented the hi-tech heat treatment for the Snd handpans, to protect our instruments better from rust and to create various handpan colors which make our handpans unique as well as durable.
4. Maintenance
Keep away from water – Considering the characteristic of metal, which absorbs water in the air, you need to clean and apply coating materials regularly. When you play the handpan near the ocean, you need an immediate and extra care for your instruments after your performance. Salty and humid environment like beach is not a safe place to leave your handpan for a long time, so make sure that you apply enough coating materials before and after your performance in those places.
Keep away from heat – If you leave your handpan in the heat for a long time, it causes the relaxation of the metal and possibly changes the tune of the instrument. So please, keep your handpan in a cool and dry place when you are not playing it. It is advisable, when you don’t play the handpan for a long time to keep it in its hard case, so your instrument can be safe from heat, humidity and dust.
5. After Service (A/S)
SND products owners can ask for the A/S. You can ask for tuning which will cost between $100 to $200(US$) depending on the number of keys which are out of tune. There could be an extra charge for fixing any physical damages or mishaps to the handpan. Under the company’s policy we are not responsible for shipping cost for A/S.

악기를 보관하시면서 최상의 상태를 유지하기위한 몇 가지 정보를 나누겠습니다.
1. 코팅
핸드팬은 100% 철로 제작된 악기이기 때문에 습기가 많은 곳에서는 녹이 쓸수 있습니다. 때문에 보호막 코팅을 1주일에 한번정도 발라줘야 하는데, 환경 친화적이며 인체에 무해한 코딩재료를 추천합니다.
2. 클린닝
일반적으로 핸드팬을 청소하실때는 소독용 알코올을 사용하여 핸드팬의 윗면 아랫면을 골고루 닦아주시면, 이 물질 제거에 많은 도움이 됩니다. 소독용 알코올은 약국이나 마트에서 구하실수 있습니다.
3. 방청
SnD 는 200여 종류의 철 합금중 가장 질이 좋고 고품질의 철판을 사용합니다. 그러나 철의 특성상 수분을 내포하고 있기 때문에 대기의 산소와 맞닿을때 산화작용이 일어나며 곧 녹이 쓸 수 있습니다. 일부 타사 에서는 도색을 하는 제작자도 있지만 그 방법은 소리에 큰 영향을 미치며 도색이 벗겨질 시에 녹이 쉽게 쓸수 있기 때문에, 그러한 방법을 사용하지 않고 고도의 기술을 적용한 열처리를 함으로써 수분을 없앴으며 다양한 색을 연출할 수 있게 되었습니다.
4. 온도
물 조심 – 시간이 지나면 철의 특성상 다시 대기중의 수분을 천천이 흡수하기 때문에 청소와 코팅을 주기적으로 해줘야 합니다. 특히 소금기가 있는 바다 근처에서는 주의를 기울이셔야 합니다. 바다 근처에서 핸드팬 케이스에 넣어두는 것 역시 녹이 슬수 있으니 이점 주의하시기 바랍니다. 바다 근처에서는 코팅제를 확실히 발라두셔야 안전할수 있습니다.
열 조심 – 야외에서 햇살이 너무 강한곳에 오랫동안 방치하거나 여름중 자동차 안에 너무 오래두시면 철의 특성상 약간의 이완현상이 일어납니다. 그렇게되면 튜닝이 약간씩 변할 수 있기 때문에 높은 온도에서 오랫동안 방치하시면 악기의 손상을 가져올 수 있습니다. 습도가 많고 온도가 높은 곳은 피하셔야 하며 건조하고 온도가 낮은 곳에서는 다소 안전하게 보관하실 수 있습니다. 하드케이스 안에 보관하시고 건조한 곳에 두셔야 녹과 먼지에서 안전할 수 있습니다.
5. A/S 수리
SnD의 핸드팬에 한해서 수리를 의뢰하실 수 있습니다. 수리 의뢰는 여기 홈페이지에서 이메일로 문의하시면 되겠습니다. 재튜팅을 원하시거나 변형된 튜닝을 의뢰하실 경우에는 음정 갯수에따라 비용이 발생할수 있으며, 찌그러지거나 분해를 해야하는 경우에는 그 이상의 추가 비용이 발생할수 있습니다.
또한 왕복배송비는 의뢰인의 부담을 원칙으로 하고있습니다.
